Intrigued by the uniqueness of the Australian landscape, Dutch born Richard Woldendorp became a landscape photographer with a strong interest in aerial photography, which he feels captures the vastness of the outback best.
Amongst his many awards was acceptance into the Society of Advertising, Commercial and Magazine Photographers Hall of Fame. Richard's love of the Australian landscape has led to extensive travel throughout the country. His photographs have been exhibited in Australia and overseas. He is represented in the public collections of The Australian National Gallery, the Art Gallery of NSW and the Art Gallery of WA and is represented by Boutwell Draper Gallery in Sydney. He is the author of 16 books.
The books best representing his works are ‘Down To Earth’ and ‘Design By Nature’.
His exhibition 'Abstract Earth: The Photography of Richard Woldendorp' will be displayed at National Trust S.H. Ervin Gallery, Watson Rd., Observatory Hill, Sydney, N.S.W from 20th June '08 to 3rd August '08. It will be accompanied by the release of his latest book, 'Abstract Earth: A View From Above'.
From the 5th February '09 to 5th April '09 'Abstract Earth' will be showing at Queensland University of Technology Art Museum, 2 George St. Brisbane, Queensland.
